Adleman has accomplished many things in the field of computer science. His most famous accomplishment is his contribution to the RSA algorithm, an algorithm that allows data to be encrypted. In 1996, he received the Paris Kanellakis Theory and Practice Award. In 2002, he received the ACM Turing Award, often referred to as the Nobel Prize of Computer Science.
Timothy Berners-Lee created the World Wide Web in 1989, his most famous computer science accomplishment. He is a founding director of the World Wide Web Foundation. In 2012, he co-founded the Open Data Institute, which advocates for Open Data globally. He is a founding Director of the Web Science Trust, launched in 2009 to promote research and education in Web Science.
Vinton Cerf helped construct the base of the Internet. He is most famous for contributing to the creation of the Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol, or TCP/IP. He is the vice president and the Chief Internet Evangelist for Google. In 2004, he was awarded the ACM Alan M. Turing Award. In 2005, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
